The following will be an annotated copy of the first page which include reflection and evaluation.

Evaluation on creative assets and production skills

I followed two template for the production of audio.

With the prepared questions such as,

• Where are you come from ?
• Do your employer value your contribution to the household ?
• Have you ever experience discrimination and inequality, if so can you elaborate ?
• How long have you been working in Hong Kong ?
• Do you think the current laws can support and protect your working conditions ?

While editing the audio, I found difficulty in fade in and out of seperate audio. I also struggle with incorporating and choosing background music.Since they gather mostly in public, the sound of streetlight and traffic fit perfectly in their lifestyle and in this audio. During the interview, I have to maintain and adjust the position of my microphone closely to the sound source that some individuals found it uncomfortable and have to do multiple retake.Therefore I tried using a paper cup for the microphone to avoid interference.I added noise reduction into the audio which minimise the unnecessary static after recording.

There were multiple videos and images that didn’t end up in the final video.

I edited these 4 images mainly in colour tone.I used black and white colour to portray the contrast between lively and lifeless.Including the essence of commodity in certain images, this showcased a significant comparison to their daily activities.I also implemented a sprakly and faded filter in the background.To question FDW representation and cultural identity.While capturing these moment,I felt the punch of inequality and distinction in social-class.

I have learnt a few new techniques such as “Picture in Picture”, colour grading , pacing , soft transition with wipe and motion and speed ramping.The video start with a montage and split-screen that I used continuously in storytelling.Gradually changing the speed of a clip for dynamic action sequences and solid visuals.I modified the overall colour tone to create a warm mood which took the longest time.

Since I did a few interview, I am able to do a first person writing with the help of recorded audio.I often found it hard to detach from my personality that requires constant revisions in order to align with their narratives.The writing maintained a compelling pace while balancing coherence in the plot.

I am inspired by their commitment and dedication to their household.Most importantly, they reminded me that they can not enjoy Hong Kong as daily as we can.They are often consumed with overwhelming housework and language barriers.They may experience isolation and discrimination that can lead to physical and mental exhaustion.There is a urgent need for improved labor right and protections to ensure their dignity and well-being.Under the current circumstances, they still manage to enjoy limited personal time, engage in their own community without hesitation.They encouraged me to find my own company and contentment in everyday lives.
